Raytown Pocket Park
Located at 63rd Street and Raytown Road, Raytown, Missouri.
Installed Summer 2007.
This new 5,600sf park is the first installation in the renewing of downtown Raytown. This green site has an ADA accessible path using a local limestone waste product stabilized with natural tree resin binders. The plant material was selected from a regionally native pallet. Salvaged rebar was used in the steel trellis and a Rain Garden was sited as the center focus for both pedestrians and passers-by.
Several volunteer groups and interested citizens worked together with Parks and Public Works personnel to construct this downtown park project. Several donations augmented a modest City Budget which was used for material purchases, site clearing, and a water tap.
Loughlin Studios donated the design and specifying services toward the building of this new City jewel for under $10,000.
