Mullen Building 3702 Merriam Drive, Overland Park, Kansas. Installed Spring 2006.       Landscaping for this 5,000 sf building was designed to meet the City's Landscape Ordinance for parking lot screening, street tree placements and open space plantings.   Regionally native plant material is used throughout the site in repeated quantities of species mimicking the geometric patterns displayed in the architecture of the building. Flowering shrubs are massed together in double rows to provide the screening of parked cars from passers-by on Merriam Drive.  Other decorative shrub plantings surround the building and help provide a visual backdrop.  All planting is bedded together in mulched areas greatly simplifying lawn maintenance. This landscaping project was designed in the Spring of 2005 and was installed in the following Spring.
