This backyard project transforms the existing muddy site into spacious outdoor living envrionments. The design criteria included a "no-mow" yard with native plant material requiring only low water usage. The flat site was sculpted to collect rain event run off into a decroative Rain Garden located just off an expanded, two level natural stone patio. An outdoor kitchen area and an overhead trellis enhance alfresco dinners.
Traditional turf grass lawn was replaced with a shade loving sedge which requires no mowing to maintain its 4"-6" height. Several exploration opportunities await a neice and nefew in the surrounding tree and shrub landscape beds.
Phase I of planned work, Site Preparation, began Fall 2009 and all improvements are planned to be installed in Spring 2010.
